Khloe Kardashian Reportedly Fired From X Factor Even Though Mario Lopez Will Stay

Pretty much no one including her own fans thought Khloe Kardashian did a good job co-hosting the X Factor in a role that basically involved pulling focus from seasoned host Mario Lopez, awkward body language, and even more stilted reading of the auto-cue.
In the same way Simon Cowell lazily hedged his bets with two former Disney stars, one of whom was medicated and the other so fresh out of rehab she later regretted her decision to participate, he lazily bet that Kardashian’s lazy brand of fame would translate into viewers and ad dollars. For several reasons, it didn’t. It obviously wasn’t all her fault ratings dived 20% last season, Britney Spears contributing nothing and filling a novelty place on the panel didn’t help either, but Kardashian was poor enough at her job she’s also getting the blame.
A hosting expert, Marki Costello explains, “I am sure there was a big percentage of Khloe’s fans who followed her to X Factor. But at the end of the day, when she doesn’t know what she is doing, are you helping your show or hurting it? It was really hard for me to watch Mario with her [because] it made me, as a viewer, almost uncomfortable.”
And now the New York Post reports Kardashian is out of a job.
The kicker? She previously told In Touch that she would love to come back. Moreover, they’re keeping Lopez as a solo and not Kardashian. Yikes. A source confirms: “They are asking Mario [Lopez] to come back, but not Khloe.”
