Khloe Kardashian: “I need a good fresh start”
Keeping up with the Kardashians reality star Khloe Kardashian speaks to Cosmopolitan Magazine’s February 2014 issue about leaving this year behind and starting anew in 2014.
Speaking to Cosmo, she reveals she can’t wait for this year to be over:
“I love the new year, new beginnings. I need a good fresh start; I’m excited for this year to be over with… You only live once so let’s make that one time perfect. We can’t fix our mistakes and imperfections, so let’s have fun. You get what you give out in life.”
“I don’t regret anything about my life. My life has made me who I am at this moment and I’m very happy with who I am. No matter if it’s great, disgusting, beautiful or ugly; it happens and it makes you you. Life is about how you process things.”
Looking forward to the year ahead she’s already earmarked some plans:
“In the past year I think I’ve lost around 30lbs, and I’m feeling good… I’ve worked very hard on my body so I think now I can sex it up a little! My 2014 mission is to wear a crop top with jeans. I’ve never done that so it has to happen one day.”
“I never take myself seriously. When I joke about my camel toe or my big vagina on TV, I don’t realise how many people are watching! I’m with my sisters and we’re the same off camera – that’s how sisters are. Then I go out and someone will say, ‘Oh, my god I have a big vagina too!’ I’m like, ‘WHAT?’ That’s when I can’t believe I said that out loud. But I love to be silly and make people laugh. It’s a compliment, and liberating to think my sisters and I might make other women feel OK about talking about this stuff too.”
She’s also a great believer in women supporting one another:
“Women can be quick to attack each other, when we should be building each other up. There are enough people out there who’ll put you down. We should be each other’s biggest cheerleaders. I’m not happy with my arms, so if I see a girl with great arms I compliment her. It doesn’t make me hate her; it motivates me to lift more weights.”
Speaking further about her own image, she reveals she’s refused to get a nose job despite her mum and makeup artists thinking otherwise:
“Words are the most powerful weapon; they can leave scars forever. She didn’t mean harm, but when I was around nine I overheard my mum telling her friend I needed a nose job. I was shocked; I hadn’t even thought about it. I’ve grown into my face but I’ve had makeup artists tell me, ‘You should get a nose job.’ I’m so happy that I never have…
“I’m proud for losing weight when I wanted to and I’ve never resorted to surgery. I’m not against it – one day I probably will but it would be on my terms. I won’t be bullied into it by social media or anyone else. I love my body and always have done.”
Although her millionaire dad Robert died of cancer in 2003, his memory is still a big part of Khloe’s life:
“It’s strange to say but I do think my family is closer because of what happened. We want to keep his memory alive, make him proud, and that makes us work harder. If he were here, we might be a little more lazy because we’d have the luxury to be that way. I still have his Ralph Lauren button-up shirt hanging in my closet, and I have this monkey that was his when he was a boy.”
Commenting more on her family, Khloé admits she’s keen to see what her niece North will be like when she’s older as she’s already such a spirited child:
“Kanye is such an awesome dad, and he’s so opinionated and passionate. North is only five-and-a-half months old but you can see she has opinions and a strong personality already. I’m kind of nervous to see what she’s like when she’s older but I think she’ll be incredibly confident because Kim and Kanye are.”
