Khloe & Lamar Finale: Did Khloe Kardashian Take Another DNA Test?

The May 13, 2012 episode of Khloe & Lamar, entitled The Truth Will Set You Free, is the season finale. There are a few issues to cover, that are best addressed in a recap, so this will be spoiler-heavy for those who’ve not yet seen this weekend’s show.

Knowing it’s the easiest way to attract viewers before the spin-off’s hiatus, producers including Kris Jenner (an executive producer, according to the opening credits, which means Kris is one of the people pitching ideas about her own infidelity) raise the issue of paternity long after it’s been forgotten by the media.

It was one of the family’s biggest scandals and, around the time filming wrapped, two of the girls’ ex-stepmothers sold stories to the tabloids about a posthumous admission that Khloe Kardashian was the product of an extramarital affair.

Paternity was addressed during season two episode 12, in addition to an old episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians (the latter was filmed back when people were only scandalized by Khloe’s incongruous looks and not her mother’s cheating).

In the new episode, the older girls inform Khloe that their ex-stepmothers Ellen Kardashian and Jan Ashley were interviewed by Star Magazine.

Khloe turns to Rob Jr. who plays a (scripted) prank, by claiming Kris held a family meeting to admit she made “mistakes as a mother.” “Mistakes” being a euphemism for “slept around.” Not conceding that the trick was mean, Rob tells his sister: “For you to think that you’re not related to us… that’s ridiculous.”

The next day (or whenever it was really filmed, since these things aren’t filmed in sequence), Kourtney tells Khloe: “I was talking to Kim and we were saying why don’t we just get a DNA test?” To which Khloe replied: “Why would my own sister even ask that?”

Later, at a group photo shoot in Los Angeles, Khloe tells her older sisters: “This whole thing weirds me out, freaks me out, it makes me feel really uncomfortable. It also kind of scares me, the what if, like what if I’m really not?”

Back in Dallas, she confides in friend Malika Haqq: “The majority of this stems from her book. She wrote in her book that she had an affair when she was 30. That means she had an affair around the year I was born.”

At a subsequent photo shoot, Kris visits the city and tells Khloe: “There’s got to be a part of you that wants some resolution in your heart.” To which Khloe replies: “I don’t care either way, because my dad is my dad and my stepdad is my stepdad. I am one million per cent comfortable with not getting a DNA test and knowing that my father is my father.”

So, no, Khloe does not take a DNA test or by extension get back DNA test results in this episode. Except, SURPRISE, a preview for the season seven premiere of KUWTK appears to show the whole family contemplating taking DNA tests for Khloe’s closure.

Click for a refresher on the paternity scandal. It’s claimed Khloe’s biological father could be a random pool boy, or the man with whom Kris had an affair in the book (Todd Waterman), or Kris’ longtime hairdresser Alex Roldan, or even O.J. Simpson.
