Report: Kim Kardashian & Kanye West Turn Down $3 Million For First Photos Of Their Baby
Earlier this week, sources began clamouring to explain why Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are yet to secure a deal for the first photos of their baby (the same sources are trying to explain why Kardashian is yet to secure a weight loss deal).
According to some sources, West announced the pregnancy for free during a concert as a defiant sign to controlling Kris Jenner that this pregnancy is not going to be sold to the highest bidder. Except the same sources made it sound like Jenner immediately put a hit on West who’s apparently not allowed to make paternal decisions about his own kid. A source told Page Six a week ago: “Like Jay-Z and Beyoncé did with their little Blue Ivy [putting the pictures on Tumblr], Kanye will want to post the [first] pictures his way, probably publicly through Twitter… which will no doubt put him at odds with matriarch Kris Jenner, who’ll want to make a deal with the highest bidder.”
And it appears that there is some truth to those reports, although early estimates that the first photos of the baby will be worth $300,000 are WAY low. A source tells TMZ.com it’s closer to $3,000,000… although this smells like a hardball move by Jenner to secure a bigger deal or perhaps start a bidding war down the line.
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West turned down a chance to rake in some serious coin off their unborn child… rejecting a $3 million tabloid offer for the baby’s first pictures.
Sources close to [Kim and Kanye say the] couple has been flooded with lucrative deals from magazines clamoring to score baby Kimye’s coveted first photos, with offers ranging as high as several million. The $3 million offer was from an overseas tabloid.
So far, no cigar. Our sources say the couple has no plans to sell the pics to anyone right now.
We’re told they’re aware public demand will only increase over time and still might consider offers in the future.
It’s a pretty surprising move nonetheless, considering it’s become [standard] in Hollywood to cash in [newborns].
