Kim Kardashian: Divorce Standoff, Jon Hamm Stands By “Idiot” Comment

March 19, 2012 by Hollywoodite

Kim Kardashian and estranged husband Kris Humphries are at an impasse in their divorce proceedings because neither will back down. TMZ.com reports that Kardashian and Humphries are both keen to end the marriage for which Kardashian filed papers October 31, 2011.

Moreover, Kardashian is willing to concede to the annulment as Humphries originally wanted so long as he concedes that he defrauded her rather than the converse. Kardashian claims Humphries defrauded her, by agreeing he would move to Hollywood and then changing his mind and “demanding” they live in Minnesota. Except none of that ever happenend as one gleans he wanted a 50/50 split living in each town and Kardashian reportedly defrauded him by marrying for money and press.

In semi-related news, Kris Jenner posted a semi-n00d of herself for Rob Kardashian’s 25th birthday.

In other news, the 31-year-old is still being attacked by a completely-correct Jon Hamm who stood by his “f**king idiot” comment made in Elle UK to which Kardashian replied Hamm was being “careless.” At the end of last week, Hamm responded to the careless comment by saying: “It’s surprising to me that it has become remotely a story. I don’t know Ms. Kardashian, I know her public persona. What I said was meant to be more on pervasiveness of something in our culture, not personal, but she took offense to it and that is her right.”

Asked on The Today Show this morning, Hamm refused to back down: “I don’t think they were careless. I think they were accurate. It’s a part of our culture that I certainly don’t identify with, and I don’t really understand the appeal of it other than in a sort of car crash sensibility. And it’s not something that I partake in or enjoy, but it is what is and here we are. There are a lot of channels on the dials and those channels need to be filled up with things. It’s different strokes for different folks.”

Hamm speaks about this with Matt Lauer at about 7 mins into the Today video (the look of ennui as he realises the direction the conversation is taking is pretty funny).
