Kim Kardashian’s Divorce Covers People, Life & Style Magazine

November 2, 2011 by Hollywoodite

The tabloids Kim Kardashian went to the trouble of staging a break-up for have been rather lethartic this week. Perhaps in a rush after getting this in just before closing stories on Monday, or perhaps resentful at having to cover this again, both People and Life & Style this week went for recycled covers.

The People cover’s the most notable this week. Since they’re the plebs who paid over a million for the exclusive wedding cover photo rights and the engagement ring cover photo rights. They won, after OK! dropped out and settled for the bridal shower photo rights. And now People is using the same art and colour scheme as their infamous Kris Humphries-free issue. Since he’s even less-relevant now than he was during the wedding.

In the days since Kim Kardashian filed for divorce from her husband of just 72 days, Kris Humphries, the reality star has been dogged by reports that the union was a hoax. But those close to Kardashian, 31, insist that her dream of marrying her Prince Charming at age 30 led her down the wrong path… to the altar.

“She’s a hopeless romantic and she felt like she got her fairy tale when she turned 30,” a source close to Kardashian tells People in its new issue.

But it didn’t take long for the excitement of the engagement, and their… wedding, to wear off. “A month into New York [after the wedding], she knew she had made the wrong decision,” says the source.

“Throughout their whole engagement they were so excited for what was to come and their life together,” says another close Kardashian source. “But once they slowed down and settled into ‘real life,’ it became apparent that this wasn’t what they both thought it was.”

Kardashian, who was dating model Gabriel Aubry this time last year, and began seeing Humphries, 26, a former forward for the New Jersey Nets in November 2010, “is embarrassed about the entire thing,” says the source. “She got caught up in the fairy tale, but her heart wasn’t there in the end.” – via People Magazine.

Life & Style weren’t even trying this week.

They actually stole an infamous People cover too, last year’s November 22, 2010 issue People cover that read: “Kim Kardashian at 30: I Thought I’d Be Married By Now.” L&S used the same photo as People, but a year later. L&S has some he-said/ she-said fabricated hearsay and the rest is recycled from TMZ and other places that got their first.

Just days before announcing her divorce to the world, Life & Style was there as Kim Kardashian revealed to her closest friends that her marriage was over. “I moved too fast, I really thought he was the one,” Kim confided to best friend Jonathan Cheban at a Halloween bash on Oct. 29 at NYC hot spot Lavo, an eyewitness tells Life & Style in the new issue.”It’s just not working. I feel sick to my stomach. But there’s nothing else I can do. It’s over.”

That same evening, Kim confessed to Life & Style that “it was tough” spending so much time apart from her husband. Kim finally realized that she deserved better than the separate and argument-filled lives she and Kris had been living, so she filed for divorce on Oct. 31, after just 72 days of marriage.

But while Kris knew what he was getting into when he proposed to self-confessed workaholic Kim, things changed the moment he and the reality star were pronounced husband and wife. Instead of planning romantic nights with his bride, Kris started partying until 4 a.m. with other women, using Kim’s name to book gigs and land a publicist and refusing to spend time with his wife.

For her part, Kim also went full speed ahead with her career, continuing to travel nonstop to promote a bevy of products. And although he had been invited to Australia and on a previous trip to the United Arab Emirates, confirms an insider, Kris… who has plenty of free time on his hands because of the continuing NBA lockout… had flat-out refused to come along. – via Life & Style Magazine.
