Kim Kardashian shared this photo on Instagram to celebrate Kanye’s birthday.
Much has been made this weekend of Kanye West’s 36th birthday on June 8 to which friends and family were in attendance.
Scott Disick and Jonathan Cheban were the only Kardashian-adjacent people at the party really as it seemed to be a night for West’s real friends (unlike the Kardashians who have a habit of inviting famous strangers to big events like weddings and baby showers because it looks good on television). Also in attendance were Beyonce, with an exposed flat stomach, and Jay Z.
Notably absent was Kim Kardashian who, for reasons that are unclear, skipped it. Instead, she sat on Twitter writing about it: “Happy Birthday to my best friend, the ❤of my life, my soul!!!! I love you beyond words!” she wrote on Instagram along with the above picture.

Kanye West celebrated his 36th birthday with a big party in NYC last night, but his pregnant girlfriend, Kim Kardashian, wasn’t there. The ultra-exclusive bash in a private lounge located above Miss Lily’s Jamaican restaurant in downtown Manhattan included guests like Beyoncé, Jay-Z and even Scott Disick and Kim’s best friend Jonathan Cheban, but Kanye’s baby mama was 2,800 miles away in LA.
The birthday boy, who’d spent the day working in the studio on his new album, Yeezus, partied hard at the late-night celebration, and an eyewitness tells In Touch, “numerous blond beauties could be seen walking into the building at the start of the evening.”
Jay-Z and Beyoncé (who was wearing a midriff-baring black-and-white striped outfit) were already inside when Kourtney Kardashian’s baby daddy, Scott Disick, arrived in a Maybach to join the festivities. He was followed at 11:30 p.m. by Jonathan Cheban, who only stayed for half an hour. As he departed at around midnight, Jonathan was asked, “How come Kim’s not here?” He chuckled and replied, “Good question,” as he got into his white Jaguar.
In Touch that there were about 25 guests at the party, which was catered by Miss Lily’s. “Beyoncé was quiet all night,” the insider reveals. “Kanye and his crew did shots and partied hard. David Blaine did special magic tricks for Kanye and his friends, and then Kanye rapped.”
Jay-Z and Beyoncé left the party around 12:45 a.m., Parks & Recreation star Aziz Ansari was spotted leaving a little after 1 a.m., and Scott (who teamed his all-black outfit with leopard-print slippers) called it a night around 20 minutes later.
But despite the departure of several guests, the party continued upstairs – even though the kitchen staff packed up and went home. At 3 a.m., the eyewitness saw Kanye and his small entourage emerge. “Kanye was very dazed and disoriented,” the eyewitness reveals. “His eyes were bloodshot and he looked very drunk.”
Kanye’s friends led him to his waiting Maybach but after a few minutes, the “Mercy” rapper stumbled out of his $400,000 car, deciding to walk down Houston Street, back to his apartment.
An insider tells In Touch that Kanye (who’s likely nursing a big hangover) is back in the recording studio today before he performs tonight at the Governors Ball Music Festival on Randall’s Island in NYC. – via In Touch Weekly.
