Kim Kardashian On Live With Kelly: Marriage Was A “Bad Business Decision”
Kim Kardashian spent this weekend’s Kourtney & Kim Take New York faking scenes about her crumbling marriage, along with her sister and some random psychic who regurgitated Googled factoids at the behest of producers.
Rather than go into those scenes, let’s examine Kardashian’s appearance on Live With Kelly this morning during which time she addressed the bad “business decision” that was her marriage.
The already-divorced 31-year-old is still feigning shock at 2011′s backlash. She married in a multi-million dollar shill wedding, for which she made a profit then lied and had her mother lie about it (splitting hairs between gross and net profit, since she didn’t know the difference). Then, following the four-hour, two-day televised special for which she’s still being paid royalties while it’s on repeat, Kardashian filed for divorce after only 72-days. She filed October 31, 2011; one year to the day after she first met Humphries.
Honestly, Kardashian pretends to be a 12-year-old disillusioned by watching too many Disney movies. Not a grown woman on her second, fleeting, failed marriage who knows better and is more concerned with fame than her relationship(s).
Asked to address her marriage and what went wrong, Kardashian, who co-hosted with parts one and two of her spot below, told Kelly Ripa the same old spiel she’s been telling everyone else: she’s sad her marriage didn’t work out because there was more money to be made from babies and related lifestyle exclusives… she killed the marriage mid-shill!
“I think me being such a hopeless romantic I wanted to believe in something so badly.”
“If this was a business decision and I really made all that money that everyone claimed we made from the wedding and it was just for TV, I’m a smart businesswoman, I would have stayed married longer. This is a bad business decision, do you know what I mean?”
“If you really think about it, it doesn’t make sense that everyone says that. I really didn’t think that following my heart would create this much backlash.”
Ripa later said that the first year of marriage can be difficult and questioned Kardashian on why she hadn’t opted to stick it out for a little longer.
“I definitely tried everything I felt like I could, but I would also hear stories of people who had kids and started this life and stayed married for years and it ended up not working out,” replied Kardashian. “I just felt like if I don’t feel in my heart this is right then why wait years to have the same result?” – via Digital Spy.
Side note: Kardashian needs to stop using the phrase “fairy tale,” as though she’s delusional enough to think there is such a thing. She’s 31!
