Kim Kardashian: Not Dating, Criticised For Keeping Wedding Gifts
March 6, 2012 by Hollywoodite
Kim Kardashian is probably going to keep the $176,000 worth of wedding gifts given for the nuptials her estranged husband is calling a sham.
It became apparent when Kardashian was reportedly paid near $20 million to get married, not including subsequent deals like a cut of the profits from commercials aired during the wedding special, that the wedding was all about money and appearances for Kardashian. She flaunted the $2 million, 20.5 carat engagement ring that TMZ posits she bought herself (it’s NOT the 2009 ring, it was a different ring altogether). She took cameras everywhere to film the wedding special, including to family friend Vera Wang who it’s reported gifted Kardashian with two free dresses. It was all about the shill and the swag. So of course Kardashian was going to keep the wedding gifts. It was just more free stuff to her.
Yesterday, TMZ.com reported that Kardashian donated twice the cash value of the wedding gifts to the Dream Foundation (failing to note that she benefits from the tax write-off). Soon after, Kris Humphries reportedly chimed in to call Kardashian a greedy fraud.
Sources say Humphries is disgusted that Kardashian would keep the gifts because “gifts from a fraudulent wedding should be returned.”
Reportedly, giving credit for any charitable donation, Humphries thinks Kardashian could have donated AND returned the items because “he feels the guests were duped into spending their hard-earned cash on wedding gifts… Kim never intended to give their marriage a real chance.”
In semi-related news, Kardashian is pretending to be forever alone following rumoured hook-ups with Tim Tebow, Mark Sanchez, Reggie Bush, again, some random Saudi billionaire, and Jeremy Lin. And joking that getting divorced was a “bad business decision.” She told Extra TV: ”I’m not dating right now. I don’t really care to. Obviously, I’ve learned that I rush into things when I fall in love and get excited. So maybe I should chill out for a little bit.”
