This Week’s Tabloid Covers: Generic Baby News & Fabricated Cheating News

This week’s tabloid covers are a disparate mess of generic, regurgitated baby news and fabricated cheating news.
It’s mostly reality stars’ contrived drama for ratings, including the Kardashians and the Real Housewives. Inset, is Rihanna’s abusive, permissive relationship with cheater Chris Brown, and Jennifer Anison’s sidelined, gaudy engagement ring.
The only real news, Tori Spelling’s gory “terrifying” pregnancy on the cover of Us Weekly. Even People Magazine used a file photo of Adele with rumours, conjecture, and source quotes rather than a real, exclusive, first person story about Adele.
* People Magazine’s cover is about Adele shortly before giving birth, probably in hopes it’s still on newsstands when she delivers: “A very private superstar. Inside Adele’s world. Getting ready for baby. How and why the singing sensation lives outside the spotlight.”
* OK! Magazine’s cover about Kim Kardashian says: “Kim’s Fear: Pregnant and Alone. With her relationship in crisis, Kim’s nightmare is coming true.” Despite the nebulous wording and placement of the wording, no, she’s not pregnant or alone. If the headline sounds familiar, it’s usually reserved for Kourtney Kardashian.
* Life & Style’s cover about Kate Middleton says: “Exclusive. Devastated Kate: A spy in the palace. In the wake of new naked photos, Will and Kate hunt for the traitor in their inner circle. The video she’s scared will leak next.” There are no new nudes, and no “spy.”
* In Touch Weekly’s cover is about Real Housewives Teresa Giudice and Melissa Gorga: “Housewives Bombshell: Teresa’s husband hits on Melissa. As the babysitter cheating scandal explodes, Teresa discovers Joe betrayed her with her worst enemy. Will she finally dump him.” Contrived drama for ratings, skip it.
* Us Weekly has an actual exclusive, the only one this week, about Tori Spelling: “Tori’s Miracle Baby. ‘We almost didn’t make it.’ Finally home with baby Finn, Tori Spelling shares her terrifying pregnancy ordeal (Only in Us, exclusive photos).”
* Star’s cover is fabrication about Taylor Swift, who’s newsworthy this week because she’s on a heavy press tour: “Two Timing Taylor. Cheats on Conor [Kennedy] with his cousin Patrick [Schwarzenegger] during family get-together; Her bizarre Kennedy obsession rips family apart. Kennedys blast Taylor, ‘She’s trash.’”
