Kim Kardashian Statement: “Sometimes Things Don’t Work Out As Planned”
Kim Kardashian has issued a statement about the end of what can only just be called a “marriage” after 72-days: no full-length honeymoon without cameras, no alone time, no home together, and no bonding time.
It was reported, and who knew the reports were accurate, that Kardashian and estranged husband Kris Humphries, were only interacting for the Kourtney & Kim Take New York season two cameras. After their shill wedding and their faux-moon, they moved into a hotel with Kourtney Kardashian, Mason, and Scott Disick which the 30-year-old admitted wasn’t “ideal.”
Body language experts and random relationship experts have been on them for weeks; talking about how they’re never together and when they are, the interactions look forced at best and icy at worst. Basically, the gossip columns were calling it as a sham… and they were right. Kardashian married because it fit her “story.” She was 31 and single and the lovelorn thing was becoming tired in the tabloids. Getting married upped the stakes, shill-wise; staying married and having a baby would have done more so.
But she’s divorcing a year after E! declared Humphries runner-up and she’s released a statement about the split.
“After careful consideration, I have decided to end my marriage. I hope everyone understands this was not an easy decision.” She adds, “I had hoped this marriage was forever, but sometimes things don’t work out as planned. We remain friends and wish each other the best.” – via TMZ.
The family has been bombarded with Twitter hate mail, after the divorce announcement about three-hours ago.
Kim Kardashian’s Twitter is silent, for now. As is Humphries’, who’s reportedly back in Minnesota with family.
Khloe’s being cc’d on a bunch of messages and so she responded to the hate mail and schadenfreude (there’s a bunch of sycophant celebrities kissing up to the soon-to-be two-time divorcee but there’s more hate than support): “Reading some these comments r so hurtful. Im grateful 4our fans who understand & r being respectful. Hate is disgusting. Love is everything… Thank God for family. We are strong and we will only become closer! I love YOU.”
Kourtney added: ”Our sister is going through a difficult time but we’re a close family and are sticking together like always… We appreciate everyone’s kindness and support. @KimKardashian, we love you.”
** UPDATE: Kris Humphries just told TMZ: “I’m committed to this marriage and everything this covenant represents. I love my wife and am devastated to learn she filed for divorce. I’m willing to do whatever it takes to make it work.”
