ITW: Kim Zolciak Talks About Her Contrived Exit From The Real Housewives of Atlanta

At the end of this weekend’s episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta is a preview for the next episode on which Kim Zolciak makes her contrived exit from the show. Conveniently timed with confirmation of her own Bravo spin-off.
There were rumours at the beginning of the season that Zolciak had been fired from RHoA when she was absent from its promotional photos. However, sources told TMZ.com that she was so heavily pregnant she opted out of the shoot. Then it was confirmed she would be part of this season. Albeit in a reduced capacity because she was pregnant and moving house, distancing herself from the other women, and basically not interacting with but two or three people.
And then her spin-off was confirmed. Shortly after which she has confirmed with an interview in In Touch Weekly Magazine that she’s leaving RHoA (it’s a staged exit, and the door’s probably open for a “dramatic” return at some point).
Kim Zolciak might be leaving The Real Housewives of Atlanta, but she’s not saying goodbye to reality TV just yet.
In Touch can exclusively reveal that Kim will be back with a second season of her spinoff show Don’t Be Tardy For the Wedding, which chronicled her Nov. 11 nuptials to hubby Kroy Bierrman.
The second season will have a name change, yet details of this have not yet been released.
While Kim says walking away from the show that made her a household name wasn’t easy, she’s thrilled to be moving away from cast drama and focusing on a show about her family.
“It’s going to a fun, lighthearted show about our crazy everyday life,” says Kim tells In Touch. “My amazing husband is doing awesome in the NFL, we’re building a home, we have a teenager, a tween and two babies,” she says about daughters Brielle, 15, and Ariana, 10 (from a previous marriage), and her sons with Kroy: KJ, 17 months, and Kash, 3 months.
No premiere date has been set, but expect Kim to return in the Spring when Atlanta Housewives wraps. – via In Touch Weekly Magazine.
