Kim Zolciak’s Real Hair Without A Wig: Before & After PHOTOS, VIDEO
On Thursday’s Don’t Be Tardy for the Wedding, Kim Zolciak is shown without her wig. The reveal occurs during a consultation with her wig stylist Derek and her assistant Nikki while planning the wedding to Kroy Biermann.
Zolciak tells Nikki, while planning the looks to go with the three wedding outfits, “I have been thinking about how I am going to style my wedding wigs for weeks and I have no idea.” Upon his arrival, Derek exclaims, “I am going to tell you what I am going to do for your wedding hair.” Nikki continues, “I had an idea. I think you are going to kill me, but I think you should do your real hair.” Derek agrees.
Zolciak counters: “You haven’t seen my f***ing seen my hair for years.”
“I think my wigs are a big part of my life,” Zolciak continues, prior to the reveal. “Go into my room and I am going to take my wig off and I will come and show you.”
Assured her real hair looks great, she explains further: “Kroy likes it too, he likes my hair…I know I have great hair b****, but I love wigs.”
Oddly, it’s hardly a revelation because her current wig looks ALMOST EXACTLY THE SAME as her current hair style. Except, the wig is a poor man’s version in style, in thickness, and in colour. Her tresses are currently blonde, with highlights at the front, a parting on the right, and possible extensions at the back. Her wig is very similar, but for its preternatural volume, sheen, and hairline.
“My wigs have definitely just become a part of who I am,” The Real Housewives of Atlanta star explained. “I’m not sure I want to change something up so drastic on my wedding day… I don’t want it to be about my hair.”
Asked in 2008 why she wore wigs at all, Zolciak spun an anecdote about a “cancer” scare that made no sense (since neither a scare nor cancer itself would make her hair fall out, although treatment of the latter could have). She started her story by using the word “cancer” to appear sympathetic, only to admit it had nothing to do with her wigs. Asked again in 2009 by Andy Cohen on the Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 2 reunion special: Part 1 “why” she wore wigs… Zolciak claimed to have “anemia and a thyroid problems” that had made her hair fall out and she claimed to manage the conditions with pills.
