Kordell Stewart Releases Statement On His Divorce Filing: “This Is A Private Matter”
Yesterday, it was revealed that former NFL player Kordell Stewart pulled the plug on his marriage to Real Housewives of Atlanta’s Porsha Stewart without forewarning. According to Porsha, Kordell promised they would work on the marriage together but then he filed behind her back. She elaborates, she learned about her own divorce online. She released a statement saying she was “disappointed” in her estranged husband.
Kordell has since released a rather terse statement, in the face of criticism from fans, saying basically “mind your own business.” His lawyer tells HipHollywood.com, “This is a personal and private family matter for Kordell and his family. I hope everyone understands. Kordell’s ongoing concern has been and remains his son’s best interest.”
No mention of Porsha by name, in the deliberately exclusionary statement. He seems done with her.
Yesterday, TMZ.com noted of the divorce papers Kordell is against providing spousal support, “[She’s] an able-bodied person earning income,” says the divorce petition, “and is capable of supporting herself.” TMZ also suggests there’s a prenup, even though Porsha says there isn’t one.
In other news, Kenya Moore says there’s still hope for the couple. “It seems they just need to maybe iron some things out in their relationship,” said Moore. “Maybe they could still make it work.”
