Kris Humphries’ Lawyers Talk To L&S: Don’t Believe Kim Kardashian’s Lies

March 21, 2012 by Hollywoodite

In an unusual move, and rather than talk to them himself, it would appear Kris Humphries’ lawyers have issued an exclusive statement to Life & Style Magazine for which Humphries is on the cover.

The headline reads: “EXCLUSIVE: KRIS FIGHTS BACK. Don’t Believe Kim’s Lies; Kim slept with me for ratings; The shocking way she paid for her ring; I know she betrayed me. On the $7M offer: She can’t buy my silence.”

It’s really just a long refutation of the smear campaign waged against Humphries after the marriage went south. Add to that, leaks from Kardashian mouthpieces like TMZ.com who are claiming to this day (you’ll know if you watch TMZ Live) that Humphries is demanding $7 million as a settlement although Humphries’ lawyers suggest that’s another leak from the Kardashians to make Humphries look money-grubbing and opportunistic.

Moreover, the lawyer words the statement to suggest, to paraphrase, “Yes, the Kardashians smeared Humphries because they could and they’re getting away with it because they’ve more creative ways of getting their story out to fans like the television show and libelous leaks to the media.”

“Much effort and energy to misdirect the public’s perception of what transpired between Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries has taken place over the past several months,” Kris’ lawyers tell Life & Style. “This case will not be resolved in the court of public opinion amidst ridiculous and defamatory allegations and personal attacks directed against Kris Humphries. Rather, this case will be appropriately investigated and litigated professionally and with integrity.”

Many issues surrounding the reality star and the Nets player have been dragged out in public through the duration of the divorce proceedings, with each side lashing out about false claims.

Despite reports claiming that Kris is demanding a $7 million settlement to stay silent, “No demands have been made,” insists Kris’ legal team, which includes general counsel Lee A. Hutton III of Lommen Abdo and family law experts Marshall Waller and Sandra Salinas of Feinberg & Waller.

“While we are encouraged to see an apparent willingness by the other side to put big numbers out in an attempt to settle Mr. Humphries’ claims, we respect and will continue to observe the integrity of the legal process.” In other words, Kris, 27, is reserving the right to bare all of Kim’s secrets by not taking a buyout.

In related news, Star Magazine has a story about Kim Kardashian and Humphries’ splitting because he wasn’t rich enough nor did he have the earning potential to keep her.

A named source, a currently-jailed supposed former-friend of Humphries, Andrey Hick, says Kardashian has a MUCH lower net worth than she claims. And, at the time of the wedding, the couple earned about the same. Although Kardashian would rather be kept with money taken from a joint bank account.

Hick claims: “Kris told her he wouldn’t be pulling in $20 million a year and that deflated things for her. Kim was not going to let it fail once it reached critical mass. Once the engagement happened, she was going to have that wedding and make money from it. Whatever was earned by Kim and Kris separately was going to be theirs but any money earned together such as from the wedding would go into the account.”

Hick continues: “We have Kim presenting herself as extraordinarily wealthy but she was borrowing $10,000 here and $10,000 there. Her net worth is only $8 million and $3 million of that is in furniture and clothing. This is a woman who wants at whatever cost to support her lifestyle.”
