Statements: Kristen Stewart & Rupert Sanders Both “Sorry” For Cheating

In an unprecedented move that, oddly, marks one of the only times Kristen Stewart has confirmed her relationship with Robert Pattinson, the actress issued a statement to People Magazine saying she’s “sorry” for being caught with another man because, you know, bad taste.
It turns out, the cheating occurred last week during a time Stewart and Pattinson were still playing the happy couple. Remember, Stewart and Pattinson are in the middle of the final Twilight movie’s promotional trail and they’ll still have to give interviews during protracted junkets that will be about nothing except this cheating scandal.
Stewart has always been evasive about her actual relationship and yet here she is stopping short of the casting couch, in her car, in a deserted car park, with another man, in public, where paparazzi and bystanders can see her. They were standing in the open, kissing, cuddling, and going further still. It was so shameless, so selfish, so blatant. They almost wanted to get caught, and they clearly were busted by Us Weekly Magazine who gave her team the heads up Monday, before closing, that the story would go live Tuesday; giving the cheaters time to prepare. In response, they waited nearly a whole day for the scandal to explode and devolve into conspiracy theories and then they both issued statements saying “Yes, I’m a cheater.”
Stewart stopped leaking sympathetic soundbites to People.com and issued a real statement: “I’m deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I’ve caused to those close to me and everyone this has affected. This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I’m so sorry.”
Snow White & The Huntsman director Rupert Sanders also admitted cheating (on his wife, Liberty Ross, who played Stewart’s mother in SWATH): “I am utterly distraught about the pain I have caused my family. My beautiful wife and heavenly children are all I have in this world. I love them with all my heart. I am praying that we can get through this together.”
Note: they both ran to People Magazine, not Us Weekly who broke the story.
