Kristin Cavallari: Kardashians Lied For Press, To Distract From Divorce

Kristin Cavallari has reacted to this week’s Life & Style cover on which she’s accused of sleeping with Scott Disick in 2009 and causing tension in his relationship with Kourtney Kardashian.
Asked about the cover story, in which she’s a footnote and yet still thrown under the bus, Cavallari told Access Hollywood the family planted the story as a PR ploy to promote the new season of Kourtney & Kim Take New York, because relationship tension between Disick and Kardashian is a major plot this season (Kardashian says early on, “Scott’s falling back into old patterns [in NYC].”) Also, the family is hoping to distract from her younger sister’s mismatched relationship, shill wedding full of lies, and whim divorce.
“First of all, it’s 100 percent not true,” Kristin told Access Hollywood’s Billy Bush in an interview for Access and Wednesday’s The Billy Bush Show. “I just think, what convenient timing for them with their show premiering next week and with everything that’s going on for Kim [Kardashian], I feel like they’re trying to take the heat off her.”
Kristin suggested to Billy that the timing of the story was too close for comfort, seemingly putting the blame for the story on the Kardshian[s].
“When there’s a big story like that, they always call you and ask if you want to comment and clearly none of them denied it, so it’s very… it’s really disrespectful to me and I’m in a committed relationship. It’s disrespectful to me and Jay [Cutler] and I think it just says a lot about their character,” Kristin told Billy.
While there was no reference of a comment in Life & Style’s cover story from either Kristin or the Kardashians, a rep for Life & Style told Access Hollywood all parties in the story were contacted for the report. The rep added that the mag stands 100 percent behind the reporting on its story.
A source close to the Kardashians called Kristin’s suggestions “absurd… like they need publicity?”
As for Jay, Kristin said her on-again [boyfriend], Chicago Bears quarterback Jay [Cutler], “didn’t believe [the report] for one second.”
“People can say whatever they want, it’s crazy, it blows my mind,” Kristin added. “Everyone says don’t worry about it, something like this, it really makes me mad.” – via Access Hollywood.
Yeah, someone in their camp totally planted this. It was barely interesting deserve to land a cover.
As already noted, even during Kardashian Backlash Week, last week, L&S was clearly easier on the family (compare L&S to Star and ITW’s covers from the same week and it’s pretty obvious). It’s probably because of the existing L&S-Kardashian relationship and history of buying their exclusives/ bikini covers etc. When this blows over, L&S will need this to continue. They’re clearly still pro-Kardashian. And maybe they’re not above fabricating this meh, circuitous stories (Disick didn’t cheat, according to their own report, he was single in 2009).
