Lamar Odom’s Father Weighs In On Current Scandal, Worries His Son Is Suffering From Depression

Lamar Odom and his father have always had an odd relationship. On Khloe & Lamar, fans were introduced to Joe Odom as the estranged father of Lamar who seemed to pop up in Lamar’s life only when he wanted something out of him, be it NBA tickets, cash, or clothes. Now that Lamar has been making headlines, Joe has once again surfaced and he’s weighing on all of the drama surrounding his son.
“I spoke with my son last night,” Joe revealed to Celebuzz in regards to questions surrounding Lamar’s whereabouts. “I know where he is at, he’s around. Any news to the contrary is a bunch of bulls**t.”
Over the weekend, it was reported that Lamar had gone missing, allegedly on some sort of drug binge. While he has been photographed since, there’s still no word on where he was or what he was doing.
Although Lamar’s communication with his wife Khloe seems strained at best, he has received a few words of encouragement (or something like it) from his father during this difficult time. ”I told him I want him to resume his basketball career and that this s**t is not good, it’s a bad look,” Joe explained. “I love my son.”
As for the reports of drug use and affairs, Joe appears to think that the rumors may be an attempt by press at tearing his son down and destroying his relationship with Khloe.
“I heard the reports, I’m his father,” Joe stated, not seeming convinced of any truths. “They’re always around and it’s probably depressing him, the poor fellow. It’s terrible. That’s why I don’t want to talk to anybody because of this negative s**t… because of the bulls**t they’re saying. It’s probably making him depressed, that’s maybe one reason.”
