Lark Voorhies: Lisa Turtle From Saved By The Bell Before & After Photos
There was a loud “What the heck happened to her face?!” as people who actually remembered NBC’s Saved By The Bell and Disney’s Good Morning, Miss Bliss glared at new video of actress Lark Voorhies that revealed her looks had deteriorated since her last public appearance.
Voorhies was around 15-years-old for 1988′s Good Morning, Miss Bliss, which was re-tooled with some of the same characters and some new additions to become 1989′s Saved By The Bell when Voorhies was 16-years-old. Voorhies played the character of Lisa Turtle in both those television shows, winning a role that was supposed to be a Jewish Princess-type but Voorhies felt she landed the part because of her personal “character” in the audition.
And the last time Voorhies really got press was August 2009, for the Class Of ’89 20-year “reunion” People Magazine cover. She looked good on the cover, less than three years ago; still young, pretty, and healthy.
However, a video posted to Yahoo! on Friday showed her looking very different. She had gained weight since 2009, and possibly had plastic surgery and/ or some non-surgical cosmetic procedures. Combined with unfortunate hair, clothing, and styling, you almost wouldn’t recognise her. But it’s her. Sparking more rumours about what happened: drugs, illness etc..
There are unfounded rumours about an illness (perhaps lupus, as commenters conjectured on Gawker.com), and rumours about illegal drugs. Although, incidentally, on May 30, 2006 Voorhies sued the National Enquirer over its claim that she had a drug problem.
It’s somewhat up for debate, so there are before and after photos below to judge for yourself along with video of the actress/ director/ producer/ writer on Michael Yo’s The Yo Show Friday.
