Who Is The Father Of Lauryn “Pumpkin” Shannon? Why Isn’t June “Mama” Shannon Married?
It has been established that the four daughters from TLC reality show Here Comes Honey Boo Boo each have a different father (despite the older three girls being close in age).
* June “Mama” Shannon, 33, is the mother of the four girls. The matriarch was previously arrested in 1998, 2004, and 2008 and she’s served time.
* David Michael “Sugar Bear” Thompson, 40, is the father of Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson, six. The patriarch of the show is Honey Boo Boo’s biological father only; as in, he’s not the bio dad of the older three girls. He served time in prison for a 1998 arrest.
* David Dunn, 34, is the father of Anna “Chickadee” Shannon, 17, and he’s grandfather of baby girl Kaitlyn Shannon, one-month-old. The construction worker did time in prison in 1995 and again in 1998.
* Michael Anthony Ford is the father of Jessica “Chubbs” Shannon, 15. Ford is the scariest of the known fathers with a sex offender conviction.
* The father of Lauryn “Pumpkin” Shannon, 12, is unknown, reports the National Enquirer. Family sources say there are rumours about Pumpkin’s parernity, about which no one seems to be sure.
Mama and Sugar Bear are not married (so it’s misreporting where her last name is assumed to be “Thompson,” she’s “June Shannon,” since “Shannon” is her family name). The family also speculates as to why Mama never married Sugar Bear nor any of the other baby fathers before him.
No one seems to be sure who fathered Honey Boo Boo’s 12-year-old sister Lauryn.
A family source told The Enquirer: “There are all kinds of family stories about who Lauryn’s dad is. I don’t think June even knows who it is. We’re convinced June never got married to any of her kids’ fathers because she gets child support and welfare payments for each of those kids – if she got married, the money would stop.”
Despite her unorthodox lifestyle, June’s father, Marvin Shannon, says he’s proud of his daughter. “I watch the show every week,” he told The Enquirer. “There’s times I say, ‘WHAT did she say!? WHAT did she do!?’ But that’s just June. If she wants to fart, she’s going to fart. If she wants to cuss, she’s going to cuss. I’m proud of her; I say she’s like Roseanne Barr. If she can make money doing it, more power to her!”
Marvin says he and June’s mother, Sandra, divorced in 1982 when June was just 3. “I haven’t had much communication with them since then, but it doesn’t bother me,” he insisted. “We don’t have a functional family, like we have Christmas or Thanksgiving dinners, but when somebody’s in trouble, we’re there… June has been in the welfare program all of her life. I like the guy she’s with now [Mike], as long as he’s got his dip (snuff ), he’s OK.”
The family insider added that the Honey Boo Boo clan is giving country folk in Georgia a bad name. “They aren’t real rednecks or country people,” the insider added. “They’re just white trash. People around here are ashamed of them.” – via National Enquirer.
