Lea Michele Reaction To Cory Monteith Death

Longtime girlfriend of Cory Monteith, Lea Michele, is devastated after hearing the news of her boyfriend’s passing.
This past weekend, Michele returned from a trip in Mexico, while Monteith visited his mom in Vancouver. The duo were apart when news was released Monteith missed his checkout time and was discovered dead in his hotel room by cleaning staff of his luxury hotel, the Fairmont Pacific Rim.
Michele, 26, and Monteith, 31, were co-stars on Glee (as well as onscreen lovers) and have been dating for the past two years. Michele released a statement through her spokesperson asking for “privacy during this devastating time.” While his cause of death is currently unknown, an autopsy is scheduled sometime this week. Sources say that Michele is “hysterical and completely inconsolable.”
Monteith completed a stint in rehab during the spring to which Michele was extremely supportive of. The most recent photo of the couple was June 8 at the 12th Annual Chrysalis Butterfly Ball. Michele gave a heartfelt interview to Marie Claire magazine back in January stating that Cory ‘makes me feel like I can do anything’ and she feels ‘like the luckiest girl in the world.’ Michele hasn’t personally commented on the status of her relationship over the past few months, but it is no doubt that Monteith was just as much a best friend as he was a boyfriend to the starlet.
Other family members have commented on how wonderful of a son, friend or cousin Monteith has been to them over the years. Flowers have been laid outside Monteith’s hotel in Vancouver by friends and family in remembrance of the star.
