LeAnn Rimes Thinks She’s A “True Artist”; Eddie Cibrian Defends Her Weight
September 27, 2011 by Hollywoodite
LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian are on separate but equally-annoying promotional trails at the moment. So prepare for double the tedious, ludicrous quotes from the pair of them.
Let’s start with Rimes, who’s doing small shows and promoting her new album, Lady and Gentlemen; the title of which presumably refers to her dating habits before cheating with and marrying Cibrian. Rimes is currently in the UK and she spoke to the BBC about her grandiose opinion of herself. The level of delusion is almost admirable. At least one person has a stellar opinion of Rimes and her talent.
On her problems: “I’ve gone through it all, at a very young age. But I think one of my base accomplishments is that I have been able to handle it very well. Trust me I have my moments, but I’ve been doing it so long.”
On her new album, in which she covers songs sung by men traditionally: “All of them are written for men. They are now from a woman’s perspective. We bring out the sexiness in it. I never thought 16 Tons could be sexy! We paid homage to the originals but put a completely different spin on it.”
On country music: “I listen to everything. If music is good, then I listen to it,” she said. “I’ll always dabble in other things but country music is where my heart will always lie.”
On child stardom: “I’ve been one of the very few who have come through as a true artist as the other side of the child star kind of thing. I’m prouder of my work than I’ve ever been. I’m coming into my own as a true artist and not just a little girl with a big voice.”
On wanting to retire: “There are always time when I want to get off the rollercoaster. I’m married to Eddie and I have two stepchildren. I don’t like being on the road and living out of a suitcase, it’s an interesting way to live and I’ve been doing it for so long. I think, like, ‘OK, I’m 29, I’m done.’ I say that for a week and then I’m ready to go back.”
On how she’s wise after helping destroy two marriages and the lives of her stepchildren: “I feel like I have more to give now than I ever have. I have all the success and knowledge and wisdom behind me to be in a really cool place.” – via Music Rooms.
Cibrian defends his wife’s corner too…
He’s currently promoting The Playboy Club, the lethargic, budget Mad Men-derivative in which he does an impression of a Don Draper who took a bunch of downers.
The actor spoke to Access Hollywood Live about his show and the presenters made the inevitable segway into concerns for his wife’s health. Not like that time someone interrupted the couple at dinner to tell Rimes to eat more; genuine concern. Cibrian said his wife eats more than he does and she works out; she’s healthy. There are photos of them on the beach, Rimes in a bikini, you can judge for yourselves.
“It bothers me because, obviously, I know she’s healthy. She eats more than I do sometimes,” Cibrian said on Monday’s Access Hollywood Live.
“She’s just a very [conscientious] eater, as far as what she eats. She eats pretty healthy, but she works out pretty hard too and she actually takes pride in the way she looks and it’s a shame that people will jump on the bandwagon just because she is fit. And she’s far from unhealthy.”
“She works out like crazy. She works out hard. She boxes. She trains… Whenever you get a picture taken of you, there’s always an angle that looks unflattering for anybody and it’s unfair to use those pictures as the basis of the way that you actually really look. She’s in fantastic shape and very healthy and I love the way she looks.” – via Access Hollyood Live.
