Police Believe Leslie Carter’s Cause Of Death Was An Overdose

This is pretty much confirming what people already suspected: the sister of Nick Carter and Aaron Carter, House of Carters co-star Leslie Carter, died of an overdose.

It was reported at the time of her death that Carter, 25, had issues with prescription pills and had moved country, from Canada to America, to stay with family and recover. Following confirmation of the death, and multiple statements from the family, a police report reveals cause of death: an apparent overdose of anti-depressants, which she had been taking following a history of mental illness… with nothing revealed in the autopsy, but with a toxicology test to follow.

Her stepmother, Ginger Carter, who the police report speculates was under the influence at the time of her interview with “slurred speech, pin-point pupils, glassy eyes and [she] kept falling asleep” (she admits taking five or six pills for depression, rather than four as directed), says her stepdaughter fell in the shower and laid down to sleep but later stopped breathing.

“Ginger stated that [Leslie] did not wake up but seemed to be okay and just sleeping,” says the incident report. “Ginger states that she looked at [Leslie] and she had all the color to her skin and was breathing. Ginger took the baby out of the room and closed the door.”

The aspiring singer’s father, Robert Carter, tried to revive his daughter with CPR but failed. At this point, a 911 call was made from their Mayville, New York address. Authorities found the reality star near medication to treat schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and anxiety, Olanzapine, Cyclobensaprine and Alprazolam, as well as a muscle relaxant.
