Lil Wayne Recovering from Seizure

The Young Money boss man, Lil Wayne, is recovering at Cedar Sinai hospital in Los Angeles, California after experiencing multiple seizures from a Sizzurp binge. Sizzurp is a highly-addictive drink very popular in the urban music scene in which promethazine with codeine syrup is mixed with any fruit flavored soda and jolly rancher in a white Styrofoam cup. Purple Drank or Lean, names the drink is also called, creates a euphoric sleepy high for users, who often mix it with alcohol for a maximum high.
The 30-year-old rapper was rushed to hospital March 12 and was released the next day but had to be rushed back to hospital when he was found unconscious in his room, TMZ.com reported.
TMZ was the first to break the story about Lil Wayne’s critical condition on Friday, March 15 posting the Young Money rapper was placed by doctors in an induced coma after suffering from violent seizures. They also posted family and friends were gathering in the hospital to say their last goodbyes to the Love Me rapper. TMZ has since removed part of the post that referenced Lil Wayne being given his last rites after rappers Mack Maine and T.I. and Lil Wayne’s ex-wife Toya Wright took to Twitter and bashed TMZ and cleared up any misunderstandings about the multi-platinum rapper’s condition. Lil Wayne’s official Twitter account also posted to fans, “I’m good everybody. Thx for the prayers and love” on Friday March 15.
According to the latest reports, the rapper’s condition is still unknown but he is still in ICU and is stabilizing. Celebrities like Drake, Chris Paul and his wife Jada and Nicki Minaj were spotted visiting Lil Wayne and Usher sent his love and well wishes during his concert with the Afghan Whigs at SWSX in Austin, Texas. Cedar Sanai has stated their hospital staff is under investigation for violation of HIPAA privacy laws.
The New Orleans native, Lil Wayne whose given name is Dwayne Michael Carter Jr. is a multi-Grammy winner. His 10th album I Am Not a Human Being II is set to be released March 26.
