August 29, 2013 by Natalie Nicole

Every show Lisa Kudrow touches seems to turn to gold! The star, who is best known for her role as Phoebe Buffay on Friends, is a successful actress, comedian, and producer. Her accomplishments include TV roles, movies, and producing the show Who Do You Think You Are?

And now she is about to accomplish something new. Lisa scored a recurring role on the third season of Scandal, which takes place in Washington D.C.. Although we know she will be playing a politician, details of her role are being kept secret.

Scandal is a political thriller featuring lead character Olivia Pope, played by Kerry Washington. Pope runs a crisis management firm called Olivia Pope and Associates. The series follows the drama surrounding the firms’ staff and political figures.

What’s in store for season three besides a new guest star? The Hollywood Reporter sources say: “President Fitzgerald Grant’s re-election will likely be on the menu for season three. We’re going to head in that direction, but I don’t know if we’re going to get there in the first half of the season. But we are heading in that direction. It’s a big deal. We’re at the timeline where that starts to be an issue.”

Lisa is a chameleon when it comes to acting. As Phoebe, she nailed the hilarious role of a beyond-ditsy blonde. In Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion, she played an immature adult desperate to fit in with peers. In the movie Easy A, she portrayed a seemingly ordinary school teacher with a shocking secret. Her character on Scandal will undoubtedly take a more serious tone than former roles, and we predict she will nail this one, too!
