Maci Bookout Talks Marriage, Says She And Boyfriend Taylor McKinney Are Looking For The Same Things

Maci Bookout and Ryan Edwards seemed to be headed for a reconciliation on Sunday night’s MTV special, Being Maci, but that was shot late last year and plenty has changed since then. Namely, Maci’s relationship status. Shortly after the show wrapped, Maci began dating 23-year-old granite company worker Taylor McKinney and seven months later, they are talking marriage.
“[Taylor]‘s like the identical version of me, except he’s a guy,” Maci tells In Touch Weekly. “We’re looking for the same things in a marriage.”
As for when they will wed, that has yet to be decided. However, it doesn’t appear to be something that’s around the corner. Not only is Maci not engaged, she’s also not living in the same state as Taylor. Since their relationship began, Maci has resided in Chattanooga, Tennessee, while Taylor travels between Dallas and Oklahoma.
One thing that is working in their favor is the fact that Maci’s son Bentley has really hit it off with Taylor and enjoys spending time with him. So, once they do marry and begin living together, Bentley will be completely on board and comfortable with Taylor in his life full-time.
“Bentley’s going to need a father figure around all the time and I want him to be comfortable with one ginormous family,” Maci says. And although she admits that she has considered getting back together with Bentley’s dad, Maci now knows that the feelings for Ryan simply aren’t there. “I don’t think he’s the right person for me,” she explains. “I’m in love with Taylor, not Ryan.”
