Maci Bookout’s MTV Special Being Maci To Be Turned Into A Series?

Maci Bookout’s hour-long MTV special Being Maci aired last Sunday night and was well-received by all of Maci’s fans and fans of the Teen Mom series. Prior to the show’s airing, it was reported that the special was MTV’s way of testing fans to see how interested they are in Maci’s life so that they could decide on whether or not to turn the special into a full-time series. Now that the show has aired, it is being reported that the network is in talks to produce a Maci spin off.
According to The Real Teen Mom Talk, MTV may have green-lit the new series and if they did in fact seal the deal, Maci and her son Bentley are sure to begin filming on the show’s first season very soon.
Since the special was filmed nearly a year ago, there is plenty that has happened in Maci’s life that MTV needs to get fans caught up on. For instance, Maci is currently in a serious relationship with Taylor McKinney — they’re even talking marriage. In addition to that, she’s also landed a couple of dream jobs, one as the host of the Teen Mom 3 after shows and another as Celebstir’s VP of Entertainment.
Before the special aired, Maci spoke with The Stir were she revealed that she didn’t know of any spin off plans at the time. “There’s no word about that right now,” Maci said. “I honestly have no idea. It has to be up to the fans and what they want to see.”
Although Maci didn’t seem too convinced that MTV was planning to give her a spin off at that point, she did weigh in on the possibility and explained that if it did happen, she’d have to put some limits on her son’s involvement.
“It would all depend on the direction of the show. I’m not sure if I’d be so willing to put him out there in the public eye at such a young age because I’m not sure if that’s something that he would want,” she stated. “If any spin-off did happen, I’d say that probably the only things I would want him to be involved in would be the things that go on at home. I wouldn’t necessarily want him at school being covered and stuff like that.”
