Mama June & Sugar Bear Are Getting Married: Televised Here Comes Honey Boo Boo Special

June “Mama” Shannon and David Michael “Sugar Bear” Thompson are getting married today.

According to TMZ.com who got hold of a wedding invitation, the couple will marry May 5, 2013 in front of friends, family… and camera crew because it’s going to be filmed and televised as a Here Comes Honey Boo Boo special on TLC later this year.

The couple, who met in an Internet chat room nine years ago and had Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson together, have asked their guests not to record or photograph the wedding. Stipulating “No cell phones, cameras, or outside video taping will be allowed.” The also couple asked for guests to wear “full redneck attire” whatever that means.

One of the enduring questions asked by fans who watch the show is: Why weren’t they married sooner?

Incidentally, Sugar Bear is NOT the father of the older girls; he’s only the father of Honey Boo Boo. Information on the other girls’ felonious fathers can be found in an earlier report. It’s been speculated that Mama didn’t get married sooner because of concerns relating to paternal rights of the older kids’ fathers and child support for the older girls. Although, she never gave an actual reason.
