Marc Anthony: Cheating Rumours Are “Laughable” Sensationalism

September 2, 2011 by Hollywoodite

Marc Anthony is on the world’s most belated and redundant press tour of denial. After weeks of being slammed as an abusive, controlling cheater and weeks after estranged wife Jennifer Lopez glossed over the issues in Vanity Fair, Anthony has given an extended interview that aired on ABC yesterday. The GMA/ Nightline interviews revealed little, but Anthony defended himself where his wife deflected.

There were some direct questions met with direct answers, finally. ABC asked a direct question about the cheating allegations to which Anthony responded there was s**t-stirred in the tabloids, but it’s all “laughable” sensationalism.

“When [cheating rumours] happens, it’s laughable,” Anthony, 42, told ABC’s John Quinones on Thursday’s Nightline. “We were laughing, cause we’ve been friends for years… Jada, Jennifer, me, him… for years!”

“What bothers me is the effect it has on family; Will and Jada’s circle, to their friends, their family, their loved ones,” he said.

Of the inconsistent rumours, “It was a flight attendant, it was the pilot… I heard it was this guy sitting next to me in a rehab in Houston,” he joked. “I’ve heard it all… people are trying to peg it on things because it was so shocking.”

“It was a realization on both our parts. So, you know, it wasn’t shocking. These things happen. It was a decision that we made jointly… This is not a funeral. This is not a burial. This is just two people who came together and just realized… I’m saying that it wasn’t sustainable the way it was, and that’s that. [I will] always love Jennifer.”

Will they keep working together? “Of course [we’ll work together]; we met working together,” he said.  “We’re [business] partners for life.” – via RadarOnline.
