Mariah Carey’s New Album The Art of Letting Go to be Released on July 23rd

June 20, 2013 by Mike Siegel

Mariah Carey aficionados throughout the globe will be ecstatic to hear that the Carey legacy is yet to be over. The 43-year-old singer is back with another album titled The Art of Letting Go, which will be in stores on July 23rd.

According to Spin, the album’s title had been accidentally leaked a few days ago by no other than Walmart after the album was put up for pre-order. On the website, there was a blank square labelled “The Art of Letting Go.” Oops? The page has been taken down since then, but the company shouldn’t worry now that it’s official. In fact, Jermaine Dupri, Carey’s producer, took to Twitter on June 17th, writing “Mariah Carey, July 23: The Art of Letting Go. The new album will be available for all the lambs on July 23.” Even before that, Carey too used Twitter to hint to her fans about the anticipated album. On the social media website, she cleverly wrote that it was a “melancholic moment letting go of something this personal to me…” I’m sure it is, and it definitely will be all types of melancholy seeing your album sell like packs of bread during a famine, Carey. All sarcasm aside, the album definitely will let fans in on Carey’s inner struggles.

While most of the content of The Art of Letting Go is currently unknown, Carey’s single #Beautiful featuring up-and-coming 27-year-old R&B artist Miguel will be one its the many melodies. It is definitely an album that people are looking forward to. Props to you, Carey.
