Marysol Patton No Longer Main Cast Member on the Real Housewives of Miami

June 27, 2013 by Natalie Nicole

Public Relations powerhouse Marysol Patton has been a loyal character on The Real Housewives of Miami for the past two years.  However, she will not be part of the main cast for much longer. Instead, she will be a frequent “guest star,” reappearing throughout the season (beginning in August) as an unofficial cast member.

What exactly does this mean? Marysol will film and interact with the other ladies as usual, but she will no longer be in the credits nor have quite as much camera time. She says that it will all come down to the show’s editing.

Instead of acting bitterly towards her new contract, Marysol is calm and understanding. She told Radar, “I think that was a decision that Bravo thought was best for our franchise was to have less housewives so that there was more quality and the audience could get more involved with the ladies and their stories. It was too hard to do that when there was seven or eight of us.” Essentially, Bravo needed to make cuts to enhance each character’s relationship with the audience. Following eight different storylines can be a bit overwhelming and maybe even boring.

Marysol is one of the original glamorous girls of Miami. Why would they choose to give this successful businesswoman the boot? After a brief marriage to Phillipe Pautesta-Herda, her story may have simply come to an end.

Even though she will still be popping in and out of the show, we will miss Marysol and her entertaining mother Elsa.
