Mattel Rep: We’re Not Making Kardashian Barbie Dolls

Earlier this month, Us Weekly claimed the Kardashian sisters would have their own Barbies by Spring.

The report was detailed and somewhat convincing, if only because it sounded like a convoluted shill to excise money from the pockets of pre-teens. Us Weekly’s sources claimed, in the original report: “The dolls will reflect the girls’ measurements and may even comes in Kardashian-designed outfits.”

However, a rep from Mattel denies the reports telling MTV News: “As popular as the Kardashian sisters are, at this point in time we are not manufacturing Barbie-branded Kardashian dolls.”

This follows reports from Page Six that a deal for a Kardashian-only/ pro-Kardashian tabloid, from the makers of Star and National Enquirer, fell through because of Kris Jenner’s demand for omnipotence at parent company American Media Inc.
