Megan Fox: I Was Misquoted In Jalouse Magazine, I’m Not That Vapid

March 30, 2012 by Hollywoodite

Earlier this week, quotes purportedly from Megan Fox began to go viral from a French magazine called Jalouse.

Along with seemingly-random quotes about hating being photographed, and her work on her latest movie, Fox was quoted as saying she’s been allowed to coast on her looks to the extent she’d never trade with less-attractive woman. Which you could sit and parse all day, right? Were that an accurate quote, she could have been talking about positive self-image. Or Hollywood in general. Or just being vapid and admitting the ease of coasting versus putting the work in.

However, Fox went on Facebook about five-hours ago to say she’d never say something that tasteless. Moreover, as most figured out themselves, the interview was translated from English to French then back to English. And, notes, Fox, even before several translations, she was taken out of context.

She wrote: “Before this starts to circulate and spin into something else I want to address a ‘quote’ that has started to run from an interview I did with a French magazine called Jalouse. The quote reads ‘i wouldn’t trade my place with an unattractive girl.’ Sigh. The actual comment, the context and it’s intention are grossly distorted and misrepresented here. I gave this interview in English obviously, it was then translated to French and now back into English. I’ve never made vapid self serving comments and in contradiction am uncontrollably self deprecating.”
