Miley Cyrus reported to Michelle Marie exclusively at the Billboard Music Awards pre-show that she will release her new single, We Can’t Stop, on June 3.

The 20-year-old actress-turned-singer has been in the studio with some very popular names including Snoop Lion, Pharrell Williams and Mike Will Made It who produced the song.

Cyrus said, “Me and Mike Will teamed up, and it really just turned out to be perfect and exactly what I wanted my first sound to be, and my first look to be. I think it’s an important message for me to tell my fans; they haven’t stopped waiting, so its great.”

The former Hannah Montana star said she will premiere the song on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show in two weeks which is “two weeks too long,” according to the singer. While she may or may not be lacking an emotional connection with her Australian fiance, Liam Hemsworth, she is feeling more connected with herself these days. “I really have more of a connection of who I am and I feel like I can maybe express that more in my music now.

Cyrus released her third album, Can’t Be Tamed, in 2010 and is excited for her fans to hear her untitled forthcoming album. “It’s been such a while since I’ve been able to tell people what I’ve been up to–It’s been a minute, so I’m just happy to be able to tell my fans what I’ve been doing,” Cyrus said. “I think the reason things have built up to moments like this is because I have kept it so sealed and everything so under wrap and giving it to everyone little by little… you gotta keep them thirsty.”
