Mirror, Mirror Has Its First Trailer: Which Will Be The Better Snow White?
Mirror, Mirror has its first movie trailer. Since it has been releasing all of its stills, posters and such within days of Snow White & The Huntsman. There’s an inevitable faceoff/ showdown coming. It’s clear from looking at the YouTube comments on the Mirror, Mirror trailers (which are getting a LOT of downvotes for looking like a cheap Tim Burton rip-off, btw).
The general consensus: Mirror, Mirror looks like the weaker film, judging from what we’ve seen so far. It’s like a made-for-TV, cheap, slapstick comedy children’s film. Where adults would watch The Huntsman, since it’s comparatively dark and brooding.
The similarities, in random order.
* Both feature an Evil Queen butchering an English accent.
* Both feature the ‘Mirror, mirror’ line and interaction with the mirror early in the trailer.
* Both have a notably-absent Snow White; Kristen Stewart doesn’t even speak in her own trailer, Lily Collins plays second fiddle to Julia Roberts.
* In both trailers, the leading men get more screen time than Snow White.
* Both films have man candy; Chris Hemsworth (of Thor and The Avengers) in The Huntsman, Armie Hammer (of The Social Network and J. Edgar) in Mirror, Mirror.
Speaking of which, had Hammer worked out or waxed his chest (he refused to wax his chest, feeling it would rob him of his manhood), this trailer would have won on man candy. Instead, Hemsworth wins for tight pants.
