MTV releases statement about cancellation of Teen Mom 3

News broke over the weekend that MTV would be cancelling Teen Mom 3 after only one season.

Mackenzie Douthit, Alexandria Sekella, Katie Yeager, and Briana Dejesus reacted on Twitter, in part by saying they were grateful for the experience and also by criticising girls from other seasons. The girls from other seasons, including Kail and Jenelle, reacted by saying the girls from Teen Mom 3 were bitter about their show ending although it hadn’t even been confirmed at the time. Now, however, MTV has released a statement confirming the reports.

“MTV will not be moving forwarding with a second season of Teen Mom 3,” the network says in a statement. “We’re thankful to Briana, Katie, Mackenzie, Alex and their families for sharing their stories as they navigate young parenthood and for helping to have a positive impact on the importance of teen pregnancy prevention.”

Previously, a source told RadarOnline, “The network has told the cast and crew that the show is over, but they have not given any details as to why it was not renewed.”

It’s rumoured poor ratings and lack of drama got the show pulled.
