MTV Orders A Second Season Of Its Wildly Successful Reality Show Buckwild!
February 6, 2013 by Hollywoodite
Today in things that were bound to happen, MTV has finally ordered a second season of its popular reality show Buckwild.
This is the show that beat Jersey Shore’s season one premiere in the same time slot (although Jersey Shore became higher-rated in subsequent episodes).
Entertainment Weekly is reporting that MTV has ordered more episodes of the show that’s wrapped its first season after making its debut in January 2013.
In that time, its cast including Cara Parrish, Salwa Amin, Katie Saria, Anna Davis, Ashley Whitt, Joey Mulchy, Shain Gandee, and Tyler Boulet have become household names with standouts including Parrish, Amin and Boulet becoming fan-favourites.
This is the show that caused consternation among locals who have claimed all along that the show is not literally scripted but it’s contrived, it’s staged, the cast is fed lines, which is why the dialog feels so forced, and scenes were shot over and over again, including fake fight scenes, until the cast “got it right.”
The anecdotal evidence comes from locals who watched production unfold, including scenes shot out-of-order, re-shoots, and producers allegedly outright lied that the footage was for an educational documentary rather than a reality show. Seeming to support locals’ claims, cast have been caught lying about their occupation, ostensibly to appear more relatable.
Subsequent reports have claimed that producers plied the cast with drink, including those who were underage at the time, and the arrest of Boulet for underage drinking during filming seems to support this.
Ahead of the finale, you can check out the cast’s passport photos, driver’s licence photos, and childhood photos.
