Mug Shot Photo: Chad Johnson Domestic Violence Arrest For Headbutting Wife Evelyn Lozada
Newlywed Chad Johnson, formerly Chad Ochocinco, has been arrested for alleged domestic violence against his wife, Evelyn Lozada of Basketball Wives.
Johnson and Lozada got married Independence Day July 4, 2012 in front of family, friends, VH1 cameras for their spin-off Ev and Ocho, and his Twitter followers as he live-tweeted the entire thing only to admit they would not have a honeymoon because he had to return to training (he also admitted that they got married on a public holiday so he would be able to remember their anniversary).
Also recently, on Twitter, Lozada shared a photo of the ceremony including her wedding dress.
And now Johnson has been accused of physically assaulting his new bride. The Miami Dolphins wide receiver was arrested Saturday night at his home for alleged domestic violence against Lozada.
Johnson and Lozada went for dinner together. Upon their return home, Lozada discovered a receipt for condoms in the center console of the couple’s Maserati (which he bought for her birthday on the show) and they got into an argument about it (note: on Basketball Wives, Lozada suggested she wouldn’t care if Johnson cheated so long as he was “honest” about it).
By the time police arrived Lozada had lacerations on her forehead for which she was treated at the scene. Soon after, she was taken to Westside Regional Hospital where she has been for several hours since her injuries will require stitches.
Davie Police Department Capt. Dale Engle explains: “It gets pretty heated. By the time they get home here in Davie it’s pretty heated. She alleges he leaned over and headbutted her. He says she leaned towards him and that they butted heads. Needless to say she has a good laceration on her forehead.”
Johnson will remain in jail for domestic violence until he can go before a judge to be released.
