New Edition React To Claim Beyonce Stole Choreography For Love On Top

Another week, another music video from Beyonce and another bump/ stolen choreography conspiracy. Below is the bumpless music video for Love On Top, released this week since Beyonce’s rapid firing out her videos to bolster flagging album sales.

The last video she released was Countdown and that was less than two weeks ago. Beyonce stole the entire Countdown video treatment and all the dance moves from a choreographer who blasted the sticky-fingered singer in the press: “I didn’t know anything about this. I’m not mad, but this is plagiarism,” said Belgian choreographer Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker “This is stealing. They took pieces from Achterland and Rosas danst Rosas. It’s a bit rude, I must say. What’s rude about it is that they don’t even bother about hiding it. They seem to think they could do it because it’s a famous work. Am I honored? Look, I’ve seen local school kids doing this. That’s a lot more beautiful.”

She did steal. Or “borrow.” Like she “borrows” writing credits for songs like Ave Maria (from I Am… Sasha Fierce).

She borrowed from New Edition who didn’t accuse her of plagiarism, but they did seem to think she ripped off their basic treatment and styling.

TheYBF.com contacted NE to ask whether they saw similarities between Love On Top and their video for If It Isn’t Love. The group’s founder Michael Nivins replied: “When I saw Beyonce on the MTV awards in the sequined jacket this year and with the dancers in R & B group positions, I knew then she was showing love to NE! The video teaser was part two…the classic video If It Isn’t Love reference.”
