Report: Nick Carter’s Family Didn’t Invite Him To Sister’s Funeral

February 7, 2012 by Hollywoodite

Nick Carter’s family isn’t making themselves look great right now.

The parents of the House Of Carters siblings already have a reputation for being exploitative stage parents who cared more about money than affording their kids a childhood. And, if their eldest son’s claims are to be believed… which they are… they’re still behaving abominably.

This past Sunday, Carter was in concert seven-hours away from the rest of the family who were at the funeral.

Us Weekly suggests that the former Backstreet Boy blew off the service to instead honour a “previously booked engagement at the iHeart Performance Studio in Bala Cynwyd, PA” the same night; his third such performance since the death on February 1.

However, notes TMZ.com, it’s more complicated than that because Carter would have attended the Freay Funeral Home in Mayville, NY and the Chautauqua County Cemetery… except no one told him about it.

In a statement that presumably includes his parents, stepparents, and siblings including Aaron Carter with whom one gathers he had a good relationship (before now), Carter, 32, admits he feels his family went out of its way to make sure he wasn’t part of the funeral: ”I wanted to be at my sister’s funeral, but my family has always had a complicated dynamic. There are so many emotions for me surrounding the loss of my sister. I am trying to stay healthy, positive, and focused.”
