Nicki Minaj On American Idol: “100% Confirmed” Or “Not A Done Deal”?

American Idol is reaching with its choice of judges, with a seemingly random roster, and who can even keep up with whomever’s name is being reported each week?

Yesterday afternoon, Us Weekly surprised everyone with its report that Nicki Minaj was “100% confirmed” to be another judge on the show, with the same source conflicting a little that “I’m not sure the deal is completely done yet, but yes, she is definitely doing it… A few more slight things to sign off on but it is happening.”

It looked like a done deal. However,  TMZ.com reports this morning that Minaj is “not a done deal” at all. Moreover, Mariah Carey, 42, is reportedly jealous that a younger woman, Minaj, 29 (she used to lie about her age), would be on the panel. Apparently, Fox lied and told Carey she’d be the only woman judging and she hung up when they blindsided her about Minaj.

Randy Jackson may come back as judge, or mentor, and there may be a second man brought in to judge (choosing from Brad Paisley, Keith Urban and Enrique Iglesias). But TMZ says it’s unlikely Jackson, Carey, and Minaj will comprise the final panel even if Carey acquiesces, because racist viewers wouldn’t watch a show with three of four Black judges.
