Nicole Scherzinger & Lewis Hamilton Not Engaged, Couple Each Issue A Denial

Nicole Scherzinger and boyfriend-of-four-years Lewis Hamilton are not engaged. There was a story circulating this weekend on the oft-wrong Daily Mail. The several-hundred-word report claimed to have exclusive information and confirmation in the form of an interview with her father, Alfonso Valiente. Over several quotes attributed to Valiente, it was claimed that Scherzinger and Hamilton are engaged to be married.

He [allegedly] said, “You know about the proposal? Yes they are engaged. My future son-in-law is a really nice guy, really down-to-earth. My family all like him. The good spirit is there…”

“When he walked into the house for the first time he picked up one of the babies. That went down very well. He is sincere and he and my daughter seem genuinely happy together. Lewis is a really good guy. When they came to visit, we hired them a Jeep because he had never driven one before.” – via Daily Mail.

It’s not known whether there was some artful fabricating of quotes or Valiente was just out of the loop, but there was no proposal.

Asked about the news by the Daily Mail, Hamilton’s spokesman Simon Olivera denied the engagement. Soon after, because the false report had spread, Scherzinger went on Twitter and told her nearly 600,000 fans “Lewis and I woke up this morning and read we were engaged! Sorry to disappoint u all but its not true : )”
