One Direction’s Zayn Malik Is Engaged To Perrie Edwards

Today is a sad day for One Direction fans around the globe. One of the hottest members of the band has just gotten engaged. Over the weekend, Zayn Malik proposed to girlfriend Perrie Edwards with a beautiful three-stone engagement ring — and she said yes.
Last night, Edwards, who is one of the four members of X-Factor U.K.’s Little Mix, showed off her new bling at One Direction’s London premiere of their film This Is Us and by morning, the band’s rep had confirmed the exciting news with E! News.
Edwards’ mother, Debbie Dufty, also weighed in on her and Malik’s exciting news, telling The Dorset Echo, “It’s official. I’m over the moon. They are really in love. [Edwards] loves him to pieces and it’s perfect. They get on so well together and understand each other. It’s just fabulous.” According to Dufty, Malik came to her and asked for Edwards’ hand in marriage before he proposed.
Earlier this year, Malik got a cartoon version of Edwards’ face tattooed on his upper right arm which Edwards commented on at this month’s Teen Choice Awards. “It must be love, to be honest,” Edwards told OMG! Insider. “When I’m away from him, I guess he can just take a look at his arm and remind him of me. It’s a lovely compliment, really. I love it, it’s lovely.”
Malik and Edwards dated briefly in 2011 before making their relationship official in April of 2012.
In other One Direction band news, Niall Horan is reportedly dating Ellie Goulding. E! reports that the pair was spotted together at the V Festival last weekend where onlookers claim they shared at least one romantic kiss.
