Oprah to Air Eight-Part Docu-Series With Lindsay Lohan
July 13, 2013 by Jennifer Exley
If the world has had enough of the troubled former child star Lindsay Lohan, Oprah hasn’t gotten the memo. The famous talk show host is set to sit down with the Mean Girls star for an in-depth interview following her court-ordered rehab, reports E! News.
But that’s not all. Oprah’s OWN network will produce an eight-part docu-series that follows Lohan’s path to sobriety and attempt to reestablish her career.
According to an OWN spokesperson, the interview will tape in August and the series will air in 2014. Lohan is set to finish her rehab stint July 31 and she is reportedly moving to New York City afterward. Her first post-rehab appearance is expected to be The Canyons premiere at the Venice Film Festival.
Oprah has established a reputation of interviewing controversial people. She famously interviewed Lance Armstrong about his doping scandal and Rihanna about her relationship with Chris Brown. If anyone could get to the bottom of LiLo’s emotional and seemingly career-ending down slide, it would probably be Oprah. The interview will be interesting just seeing how Lohan handles all of Oprah’s tough hitting questions without a publicist. The docu-series may be another story. Maybe with the cameras it will actually challenge Lohan to clean herself up. Or she’ll screw up on tape and make even more of a mockery out of herself.
