Paula Abdul Is Ridiculous, Needs Reminding She’s A “Warrior, Survivor and Gift”
Paula Abdul was ridiculous when she judged American Idol. She was a reported drunk who spent her entire time rolling on something or another. She even looked loaded on her own reality show. She appeared on multiple, live television programs slurring her words and nearly falling down on… nothing. At most, she used “prescription meds” and she claimed she’d never been drunk. Remember? In January of this year Abdul responded to claims that she was an out-of-control boozehound with her own claims that she had never experience being drunk her entire life; she had consumed alcohol, but she had never experienced intoxication… “I am intelligent,” Abdul told Julie Chen of CBS News’ Sunday Morning. “Having a brain, that’s a concept, yes, with Paula Abdul. I have a brain… I’ve never had a drinking problem. I’ve never physically been drunk in my life. I’ve never been drunk in my life. I don’t use recreational drugs. But, I am goofy.”
Okay then.
Back to this week, never-drunk Abdul is admittedly goofy. And sources confirm some of the weirder things she does that impact friends, family, and employees. She doesn’t interact with her family, having staff imitate her on email. And rather than use her bathroom mirror, Abdul makes staff affirm her existence.
Anyone interested in getting hired as Paula Abdul’s assistant should get ready to tend to a kooky list of daily demands. Among the 49-year-old X Factor judge’s requests, according to an insider? Each assistant must carry and use a tape recorder at all times “because she doesn’t trust her own conversations,” the source says. “She also makes them check the TiVo for any mention of her and put it on a DVD.” Abdul team members should also prepare to go through her email… and respond to family and friends as the star herself. The singer also needed constant reminders that she is a “warrior, survivor and gift,” adds the insider. – via Us.
This is the word of a source, sure. And it may be a source with some sort of axe to grind, trying to embarrass her as she films American X Factor. But they didn’t even need to go into this much detail. The last line alone is pure entertainment. And it’s all her. This is the nonsense she was doing/ saying on her reality show that need not have existed; every second word was an affirmation of what a literal “gift” she was upon the world.
