People Magazine: Beyonce Is The World’s Most Beautiful Woman

April 25, 2012 by Hollywoodite

This has been an interesting tabloid year for Beyonce; not especially an interesting career year, it’s not like she needs the help despite the snide tongue-waggling about her numbers slipping. Her Four album seemed to disappoint fans, in an orgy of plagerised videos and performances, thrown at people week after week. But it’s been the 2011 MTV Video Music Award reveal, and the pillow scandal, and the supposed birth, and postpartum body-snarking, and the reveal of Blue Ivy Carter that made this a good nine-months of gossip.

In short, Beyonce did her own reveal, skipping the tabloids altogether, and they imploded with source reports about every aspect of her conception and birth somehow overlooking Jay-Z’s admission in rhyme that Beyonce miscarried at least once. And the pillow drama was mostly a blog thing, but tabloid coverage intensified nearing her due date. And the biggest scandals were with the ego-laced birth plan that denied other parents. And In Touch Weekly, specifically, needed you to know how spoiled the baby was in utero.

And now back to People Magazine, who mostly overlooked Beyonce for the entire period. She still made the cover for the World’s Most Beautiful Woman 2012 and, just like the arbitrary Sexiest Man covers, this is going to inspire ire and head-shaking. Was she the best choice in a year deluged with Adele, Rihanna, Jessica Simpson, Jessica Biel, Charlize Theron, Scarlett Johansson, Mila Kunis, and Jennifer Aniston (some of whom are listed too)? They’ve all been more tabloid-relevant;  consistently so. It’s not like Beyonce’s not beautiful, but it feels like, being cynical for a moment, the birth is the only thing that made Beyonce cover-relevant this year, no?

She’s an entertainment force of nature, 16-time Grammy winner, and beauty and style icon. But Beyoncé is proudest of one title that also happens to be her most recent: mommy to little Blue Ivy Carter.

“I feel more beautiful than I’ve ever felt because I’ve given birth,” says People’s 2012 World’s Most Beautiful Woman. “I have never felt so connected, never felt like I had such a purpose on this earth.”

The… singer, 30, and her husband of four years, Jay-Z, 42, have gone gaga for Blue, born Jan. 7 in New York City. “She’s just the cutest thing,” gushes Beyoncé, who croons one-of-a-kind tunes to her daughter and professes to “love” changing diapers.

So who does her daughter most resemble? “She looks like Blue,” says Beyoncé, who is back to her pre-pregnancy weight and gearing up for her first post-baby concerts, Memorial Day weekend at the Revel Atlantic City. “She’s her own person.”

“The best thing about having a daughter is having a true legacy,” she adds. “The word ‘love’ means something completely different now.” – via People Magazine.
