People Cover: Johnny Depp & Vanessa Paradis Living Separate Lives

This week’s People belatedly covers last week’s tabloid reports that Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis are living separate lives, following together as parents in a supposedly open relationship (sources said it worked for them).

There were rumours, preceding this cover, that Depp’s alleged wandering eye wandered in the direction of Eva Green while filming Dark Shadows together. Moreover some of his drunken, distant behaviour was written-off as a “mid-life crisis.” There was little veracity to the claims though, coming from Star and its sister outlet RadarOnline.com (both owned by AMI, although the conflict-of-interest seems to escape casual readers), so it was hard to make anything more of the reports.

However, now People.com has released its Wednesday cover for January 18 and it’s about the relationship breakdown and how the mostly-estranged couple has moved from the French situation to living apart while working in Los Angeles.

Once upon a time, Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis lived a quiet family life far from the spotlight in the sleepy French hamlet of Plan-de-la-Tour. But that time is no more, and now the couple largely reside in L.A., when they are in the same city at all.

Depp, 48, and Paradis, 39, who are parents to Lily-Rose, 12, and Jack, 9, have not appeared side-by-side on a red carpet for more than a year.

Multiple sources tell People in this week’s cover story that the relationship is all but officially finished. In fact, some in their circle say the couple of nearly 14 years have already split. Says one insider: “It’s so sad.” – via People.

Here’s the cover, with a headline that reads: “JOHNNY LIVING SINGLE: Love Gone Wrong, their separate lives… After 13 years (ed’s note: although it’s ’14-years’ in the article) and two kids, the couple’s longtime relationship hits the rocks. Inside the secretive star’s troubled love life.”
