Did Star Magazine Photoshop Kate Middleton “Baby Bump” For “It’s Twins” Cover?
September 20, 2012 by Hollywoodite
Last week, Star Magazine fabricated another Kate Middleton pregnancy cover. As it did exactly this time last year when its cover claimed that Middleton was pregnant with twins: a boy and a girl. The September 6, 2012 headline was, in fact, an almost exact word-for-word copy of the September 8, 2011 cover.
Last week’s story offered no specifics on the supposed sex of the supposed baby/ babies. This week, right on schedule, Star is claiming Middleton is pregnant with “twins.” Again. Not explaining what happened to the supposed “twins” from last year (the same as happened to Angelina Jolie’s and Jennifer Aniston’s nonexistent ”twins”).
This week’s cover for September 19, 2012 says: “Scandal Turns To Joy. It’s Twins. Pregnant Kate gets thrilling news amid nude photo uproar. Up to 125 lbs and showing. (Only drinking water). William’s warning: ‘I won’t let them hurt Kate like they did my mother.’”
On the cover is Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, at an event in a photo taken from the side. There’s no bump, so what did Star allegedly do? Photoshopped a bump. At least according to Celebuzz.com, The Daily Mail and others today.
From Celebuzz: “When put side-by-side with the original, untouched image of Middleton, distinct differences materialize. Not only has is her floral slim-fit frock been mysteriously blown out, photoshopped in magazine parlance, but Prince William‘s wife is mysteriously missing her right-hand ring on Star‘s “It’s Twins!” cover. There’s one glaring detail that gives away Star‘s photo doctoring: as compared to the real snap, a far smaller portion of the Duchess’ left forearm is visible on the magazine cover.”
From The Daily Mail: “MailOnline laid a ghost of the Star magazine cover over the original image to compare the two, and it does indeed appear that there are some differences. The Duchess’s entire torso looks to have been widened, and the angle of her left arm and the glass she holds seem to have been altered, with Mary Tan’s (far right) glass removed from the frame entirely. The cocktail ring is missing from her right hand, as is the shoulder of a woman in the background, just seen in the original. Kate’s face, eyes and teeth have also been lightened. In MailOnline’s overlay composite, the Star cover and the photo beneath were matched using the position and size of the Duchess’s eyes to ensure that they were in perfect proportion with one another.”
In the side-by-sides, and also with Star’s cover placed atop the original photo, yes, the cover has obviously been messed with.
