Kordell Stewart & Porsha Stewart Divorce: What Went Wrong? Will He Pay Spousal Support?

Earlier today, local sources in Atlanta confirmed the divorce of former NFL player Kordell Stewart from Real Housewife Porsha Stewart. Reports noted that he filed a petition for divorce March 22, 2013 in Fulton County Superior Court in Georgia.

AccessAtlanta.com broke the story that was confirmed hours later by TMZ.com who note “The issue of children came up often on the reality show. Porsha wanted to have kids AND a career in charity work, but Kordell told her she had to choose.” According to RealityTea.com, “controlling” Kordell wanted Porsha to quit the show “since it was [ruining] his reputation and opening up scrutiny about their marriage… but Porsha wants a career and didn’t want to leave RHOA.”

In a subsequent report citing the actual filing, TMZ notes Kordell says the marriage is “irretrievably broken” and claims the two are currently “separated.” He also is against spousal support, claiming “[She’s] an able-bodied person, earning income and is capable of supporting herself.” TMZ also claims “Kordell says there are no marital assets subject to division… which could suggest there is a prenuptial agreement in play.” HOWEVER… Porsha already said on the show there is NO prenup.
