Publicist Tweets NYPD to Help Amanda Bynes… Was It All A Publicty Stunt?
May 3, 2013 by Elle Dee
Amanda Bynes is in desperate need of help. Or, at least, that’s what her alleged “ex-publicist” Jonathan Jaxson seems to think. Last night, Jaxson took to Twitter—which just so happens to be Bynes’ favorite way to communicate these days—to express his growing concern for the actress.
Jaxson’s distress is understandable given Bynes’ bizarre behavior as of late. Most recently, the 27-year-old tweeted her weight loss concerns. “I weigh 135, I’ve gained weight!” she revealed to her followers. “I need to be 100 pounds!” Accompanied by a photo of the bleached blonde in a lacy black bra, the tweet immediately sparked even more talk that Bynes is spiraling out of control. Little did the public know, she was just getting started. Yesterday, Bynes posted topless photos of herself in her favorite selfie spot—the bathroom. Although she covered her chest ever-so seductively, the latest bad girl revealed just enough to convince many that she had officially lost it.
That’s when Jaxson decided to step in. The publicist told his followers: “I JUST SPOKE TO @Amanda Bynes and she is soooo messed up on drugs and please @NY_POLICE find her and help her!” At first, this may seem like a genuine attempt to rescue Bynes. But don’t be so sure of his heroism just yet. Jaxson went on to say: “I don’t know her address! @TMZ.” It’s not exactly clear why he thought it was necessary to involve gossip site TMZ. Perhaps Jaxson thought the paparazzi could save Bynes.
His client Jenny McCarthy must have thought the same thing, because she re-tweeted his plea. McCarthy then followed up by “confirming” that the NYPD had arrived at Bynes’ home. So how did Bynes respond? Why of course the She’s the Man star came back to where it all started—Twitter. “@JennyMcCarthy you’re ugly!” she angrily tweeted this morning. “Police weren’t at my house old lady! Shut the f**k up!”
The women argued as Bynes denied that police were ever at her home. They eventually apologised to one another, and it turned out to be a false alarm.
Surely, this drama isn’t over though. Check Twitter for the next play-by-play in real time.
